3.4.3 Mood
When we speak of the mood of the poem, we are meaning how, we, the readers, are reacting to the poem. Again, if we take the above poem, realising the condemnatory tone of the writer and the deadly/leaden atmosphere, we would be feeling sorry for the man and angry that people are reduced to such a state in their living. The mood, therefore, would be both angry and compassionate.
